The Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market (東京都中央卸売市場 Tōkyō-to Chūō Oroshiuri Shijō?), commonly known as the Tsukiji Market (築地市場 Tsukiji shijō?), is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world and also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kind.
Bla bla bla don't really care about the market, it's just a place they sell fish!
Besides they don't let you in the core of the market anymore unless you got there and register at 4:30 am to visit at 6. I rather watch people at Shibuya. But where is the place you get the freshest fish in Tokyo ? It's in Tsukiji. So I made my way there around 10:30 am. I visited the market for the 'normal' people (as in those that don't wake up at 3 am to see fishermen sell their fish.
I actually enjoyed walking in the market alleys the weather was nice so it was fairly crowded.
And that's what you get in the plate:
Real miso soup.
And the sushi:
The Sushi was real good, got two additional Otoro (there are already two in the left bottom corner of the set) at only 398 yen the piece of Otoro this was definitely a Tsukiji price. I might go there again and have only otoro on my last day in Japan.
